Liberating Technologies, Inc. (LTI) has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembly Technician. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsoring for work visa is not available at this time.

Liberating Technologies, Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of prosthetic devices for adults and children that was recently acquired by College Park Industries. The company specializes in high-technology solutions to prosthetic systems with a focus toward powered upper-limb prosthetics. LTI has been in business for seventeen years as a standalone company and in late 2008 began to expand and grow their government funded research program, which will provide a majority of the support for this position.

Job Description

A new team member will have the opportunity to learn an industry that helps people around the world return to a functional life. Our robust, on the job training program, will teach you a wide variety of professional skills, from Injection Molding to CNC Machining. The person must have the ability to adapt to a fast pace, ever-changing work environment, and an exceptional eye for detail.

Shift availability must be Monday through Friday, from 7:15 a.m. to 5:00/6:00 p.m., plus some Saturdays (as needed). A typical work week will be 45 hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assembly of small, precision parts
  • Operating common hand and powered tools and equipment such as:
    • drill press
    • saws (band saw, table saw, radial arm saw, etc.)
    • belt and disk sander
    • dremel tool
  • Reading machine drawings
  • Making precision measurements (Vernier calipers, micrometer, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills (MS-Word, MS-Excel, etc.)
  • Order processing tasks
  • Ability to sense (hear, feel) subtle differences in product performance
  • Machining (lathes, milling machines, CNC, etc.)
  • Molding processes
  • Plating/coating
  • Solidworks or CAD capabilities
  • Basic electronics (use of multi-meters, scope, etc.)
  • Shipping procedures (i.e. UPS, etc.)


  • Education: trade school, certification, Associates degree, Bachelor’s Degree, etc
  • Assembly of small, precision parts preferred
  • Basic electronics (use of multi-meters, scope, etc.)
